Our Mission...

Save the Bitterroot Conservation Coalition is a hastily formed group of citizens who love the Bitterroot Valley and are alarmed about the accelerated level of development in this valley, and its effects on the environmental resources and rural lifestyles that exist here. Our mission is to gather the support of all individuals who share this concern, and to join in a non-partisan effort to significantly affect the final outcome of this development, so that it reflects the desires of those who wish to maintain the Bitterroot Valley’s unique environmental resources and rural character.

Save the Bitterroot Conservation Coalition will be moving assertively to do whatever is necessary to stop this unconscionable plunder of our valley. We are willing to be the point of the spear in this effort and have no reservations about doing so. We are not afraid of these people, their power and their money. We have the law on our side and have the potential to gather great assistance towards our efforts. Our greatest obstacles to success are cynicism, apathy and poorly informed citizens. We will spread our word at every possible opportunity until all of the good people of this valley finally awaken to the threat that they unwittingly face. If we fail, this valley will be transformed into a city, not of our liking, much like those which many of us escaped to come here in the first place. “The Buck Stops Here!"

Special Notice:

To the citizens of the Bitterroot Valley - if you've forgotten what we are fighting for, please watch this short video. I paid a company to produce this in 2006 and hope that it will inspire you to get involved (or re-involved) in this conflict over out-of-control development.

We are losing the fight for our way of life. Our Commissioners have now approved enough new subdivisions to provide housing for tens of thousands of new transplants to the Bitterroot Valley. Our only hope is for the BFP lawsuit to bear fruit in the near future.

We are reviving this website and will use it to try and communicate with folks as important information surfaces.

This is an invitation for anyone interested in helping us to inform the citizens, to prepare and mail notices to me at clinkenhok@yahoo.com, that I can post on our website.
