Action Plan
Save the Bitterroot Conservation Coalition has written a lengthy, passionate, and expensive letter that was placed in the Ravalli Republic, Bitterroot Star and Missoulian newspapers during the week of September 18 though September 22. We hope that this letter will alarm the citizens of the valley to engage their personal resources to our effort. It has succeeded in connecting us to individuals and groups who have committed their assistance and resources to our efforts, some of these contacts as far away as Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and San Francisco, California.
We are also in the process of producing an inspirational film, with an abbreviated version to run on Missoula’s two primary television networks during the month of October, leading up to the election. If necessary, we will even attempt to run these ads on a regional or national level in order to bring tremendous pressure on our governmental resources to deal with this issue, immediately. We are in serious need of financial assistance. A handful of individuals have expended nearly $6,000 of their personal income in order to place paid letters into the Ravalli Republic, the Bitterroot Star and the Missoulian; to pay for the cost of producing our film with High Plains Films of Missoula, Montana, and for miscellaneous expenses for office, travel and communications. Our current expenditures and commitments exceed $10,000.
We have intentions to produce a formal declaration of our mission and intentions during the month of October, leading up to the November elections. We will be compelled to pay for placement of this formal document in all three papers, again.
Our major expenses in October will be the completion of our film and to buy 60 second ad space for an abbreviated version of our film, which will tentatively be called “When Eagles Flee”. We have not yet obtained estimates of this ad cost, but expect it to be significant.
