Why Us and Why Now?
Numerous public meetings have been held over the last year about the concern of our citizens about this blitz of development currently underway, but have resulted in little change in this unacceptable situation. Our Commissioners have publicly stated their weariness resulting from the comments of hundreds of valley residents concerned for their futures. They have also publicly announced their frustrations with failing to overcome current resistance in order to approve Aspen Springs Subdivision, near Florence. This, despite the pleas of many affected residents in the community; this, despite clearly documented problems with the developments on environmental resources of the area, including those with federal implications; and this, despite the developer’s request for 8 variances to current regulations that may have significant affects on future growth planning in the valley.
